The German party was fun and I had my fair share of sausages and other delectable German treats. Decidedly, Germans are a reserved bunch when it comes to dancing, so I was disappointed when nobody got up to dance when the live band played a rousing medley of Michael Jackson tunes. But I digress. I leave for Africa in less than a week, and feel wholly mentally and physically prepared. But I am still filled with a bit of trepidation as to what awaits me on safari (we are camping in the wild for 7 nights of our 11 day tour and I am deathly afraid of most insects) and a busy last few weeks at work have left me feeling drained and tired. Then again, what the heck am I talking about! I’m going to Africa on safari and it’ll be incredible, so worrying about insects and fatigue is probably pretty stupid.
In other news, I went to China (mainland) for the 2nd time yesterday (the first time I went was last week) and boy, was it a complete, crazy, sensory-overload type experience which I will have to relay in greater detail some other time. It is completely different from Hong Kong over there and visiting over there really makes me realize how desperately I need to learn Chinese!
